Director of Tribal Coordination
Rhonda S. Fair was appointed to the position of Director of Tribal Coordination for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in April of 2015. Since May 2005, Fair has served as the Tribal Liaison for ODOT’s Cultural Resources Program within the Environmental Programs Division. In her new position, Fair will continue consulting with Oklahoma’s Native American tribes to identify their concerns with ODOT’s Federal-Aid undertakings. Additionally, she will facilitate partnerships between the Department and tribal transportation programs across the state.
A native of Louisiana, Fair moved to Oklahoma to pursue graduate work at the University of Oklahoma; there, she received her M.A. (2000) and Ph.D. (2007) in Anthropology. In addition to her work for ODOT, Fair volunteers her time in support of tribal cultural preservation, most notably the Hasinai Caddo Summer Youth Camp. She enjoys sewing, hunting, and doing beadwork.
