Purpose
The purpose of the Open House is to present information about the proposed improvements to SH-19 in Grady County and obtain information from the public to further assist in the identification of critical social, economic, and environmental effects that may result from the project.
Description
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing to improve the safety of SH-19 from 500 feet east of Roaring Creek and extending east-southeast through the town of Bradley approximately 4 miles to about 0.5-mile west of the Washita River located in Grady County. The existing highway has two 12-foot wide driving lanes with insufficient sight distances, several narrow bridges and drainage crossings, and no shoulders. The purpose of this project is to improve safety by correcting a roadway with poor sight distance and no shoulders.
As part of our efforts to keep the public informed and involved in the decision-making process, ODOT has scheduled a public meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to present the results of the environmental studies and the alternatives considered for the proposed improvements, and to obtain input on the preferred alternative.
