At-Large Commissioner
Michael Junk
Michael Junk was appointed as an At-Large Commissioner by Gov. Stitt in January 2023, representing all counties in Oklahoma.
Junk currently leads the public relations and regulatory affairs team for the QuikTrip Corporation.
Following the election of Gov. Stitt in 2018, Junk served as chief of staff to the governor. Prior to his service in state government, Junk led the successful campaign for Mayor Bynum in Tulsa and assumed the appointment of deputy mayor.
From 2012 to 2016, Junk worked for U.S. Senator James Inhofe as policy advisor. From 2007 to 2012, Junk served as legislative correspondent and administrative director to U.S. Senator Tom Coburn.
Throughout his time in public service, Junk has served in several board and advisory capacities such as the governor's Oklahoma F-35 Task Force, the Oklahoma Municipal League, the Indian Nation Council of Governments and the Tulsa Board of Appeals.
Additionally, Michael currently holds leadership roles with the National Association of Truck Stop Operators, the National Association of Convenience Stores and SIGMA, the national trade association representing retail fuel marketers. He is an active member of the Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Chamber Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and Metro Christian Academy in Tulsa where he serves as a board member on the school’s foundation.
