Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC)

Created by the Legislature in 1941, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) provides employment security services to promote and develop Oklahoma’s business landscape. Through OESC offices, employers can interact with and be matched to qualified workers based on a broad range of customizable and specific labor force requirements. OESC is also responsible for the collection and stewardship of statutorily required unemployment payments from Oklahoma employers. These payments are collected and reserved for the sole purpose of paying unemployment benefits to qualified jobless workers seeking their next employment opportunity. OESC is one of the only employment service agencies in the country that receives all its administrative funding from the federal government, as no funds are appropriated to the agency by the State Legislature.
