Legislative Service Bureau

The House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Legislative Service Bureau represent the legislative branch. The Oklahoma Legislature consists of 101 members in the House of Representatives and 48 members in the Senate. They convene annually beginning on the first Monday in February and adjourn on the last Friday in May. Normally, the Legislature is in session Monday through Thursday. Extra legislative sessions may be called by the Governor or by the Legislature. State Senators serve four-year terms with half of the members elected every two years. Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms.
