Oklahoma Driver License and State ID Now Available in Google Wallet

Expanded Digital ID options give Oklahomans more ways to securely present their identity as acceptance grows across the state

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 7, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – Oklahomans now have another secure and convenient way to carry and present their identity. Beginning today, eligible Android users can add their Oklahoma Driver License or State ID to Google Wallet.

The launch expands Digital ID access to more Oklahomans and gives customers more choice in how they securely carry and present their identity from their mobile device.

“Digital ID becomes more valuable when more Oklahomans can access it and more places are equipped to accept it,” said Diedra O’Neil, Chief Executive of Strategy and Operations. “Expanding to Google Wallet gives more Oklahomans the choice to securely carry and present their identity in a way that works for them.”

Oklahomans can present their Driver License and State ID in Google Wallet at participating Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints at Tulsa International Airport, OKC Will Rogers International Airport and at more than 250 airports nationwide. They can also present their Digital ID to participating businesses and organizations equipped to securely verify it.

Oklahoma Digital ID is optional and works alongside a customer’s physical Driver License or State ID. Customers should continue to carry their physical credential.

Building Digital ID Acceptance Across Oklahoma

As Digital ID becomes available to more Oklahomans, Service Oklahoma is making it easier for businesses and organizations to accept it.

Oklahoma Reader, Service Oklahoma’s free verification app, allows businesses to securely verify only the information needed for a transaction, such as whether a customer is 21 or older, without storing customer information or a record of the transaction.

The Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission (ABLE) provided guidance allowing businesses to accept Oklahoma Digital ID for age and identity verification when the credential is electronically verified using an ISO-compliant reader.

Businesses and organizations can learn more about accepting Digital ID, access Oklahoma Reader resources and review available regulatory guidance at service.ok.gov/DigitalIDAcceptance.

Private and Secure by Design

Google Wallet protects a customer’s Digital ID with security built into their Android device. The ID is stored encrypted and is accessible only with personal authentication. When presenting an ID, customers can review the information being requested before choosing to share it.

To add an Oklahoma Driver License or State ID to Google Wallet, open the Google Wallet app or download it from Google Play. Tap “Add to Wallet,” then “IDs and personal info,” select Oklahoma and follow the instructions to verify your identity using your physical credential.
