Service Oklahoma Selects a Vendor for All-New Driver License System of Record

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 25, 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY – Service Oklahoma is proud to announce that FAST Enterprises has been chosen as the vendor for the state’s all-new driver license system of record. This new system will better align Service Oklahoma’s business practices and technology and meet the demands of the driver license system of record. Thales Group and IDEMIA have also been selected as vendors for card printing and system hardware.

FAST is already familiar with Service Oklahoma as it is the current provider for the motor vehicle system and Oklahoma Tax Commission’s system of record provider. FAST will integrate both the new driver license system and Service Oklahoma’s motor vehicle system into one single, easy-to-use program. This integration will simplify and automate processes, reduce processing times and make the systems more user friendly. A mobile ID component and digital wallet integration are new features that will be included in the new system.

“This new driver license system of record will simplify processes, reduce processing times and make the system easier to use for our staff as well as for all Oklahomans,” said Jay Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Service Oklahoma. “The new system will align perfectly with our mission of meeting Oklahomans where they are by creating mobile ID credentials and digital wallet integrations, but also further shows our commitment to best-in-class customer service.”

Thales has been selected as the vendor to redesign Oklahoma’s physical driver license and print all state credentials such as driver licenses and state IDs. Thales, a leader in both cyber security and data protection, has a track record in decreasing the carbon footprint of printing driver licenses by utilizing a low-carbon strategy.

IDEMIA has been awarded as the hardware vendor for the new driver license system of record. IDEMIA is currently Service Oklahoma’s hardware vendor, and the new system will continue to use the existing hardware.

"We're thrilled to be able to modernize and digitize Oklahoma's driver license system of record, ensuring greater efficiency, accessibility and convenience for all Oklahomans accessing driver services," said Diedra O’Neil, Chief Strategy & Operating Officer of Service Oklahoma. “This isn't just an upgrade; it’s a complete transformation of our driver license system and a game-changer for Oklahomans."

Initial programming will begin August 1 for the new system of record and the system will be fully operational by Thanksgiving 2025.
