Infant & Children’s Health Advisory Council

The Infant and Children's Health Advisory Council is authorized by statute (63 O.S. Section 1-103a.1) to serve as an advisory council to the State Board of Health and the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The Advisory Council is composed of 8 members. Members are appointed for a 3-year term. The Advisory Council must meet at least twice a year, but not more than 4 times a year.

The Advisory Council is Appointed to make recommendations to the Commissioner of Health on rules; and to cooperate with other advisory councils, the public, the State Board of Health, The Commissioner of Health and the State Department of Health to coordinate rules. The jurisdiction of the Advisory Council includes all issues that arise in the areas of healthcare for infants and children and such other areas as designated by the Commissioner of Health.
