Are You REAL ID Ready?

Beginning May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant Driver License or ID card, or a valid federal identification document (i.e. U.S. Passport) will be required for you to fly within the U.S. or visit a federal facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

While Learner Permits, Intermediate Licenses, and Unrestricted Licenses are not inherently REAL IDs, a REAL ID indicator can be added to them at the time they are issued. If you would like to have this indicator added, please bring the documents found here with you to your appointment.

An Intermediate License is the required step before receiving a Class D (Unrestricted) License in the Graduated Driver License program for anyone under 18 years old. If you are over 18 years old, you do not need to receive an Intermediate License.

You will have to hold an Intermediate License for the required amount of time and meet the eligibility requirements listed above. There are no tests or additional actions required before scheduling an appointment.
