Birth Registration Resources
A birth certificate is a permanent record of the fact of a person's birth. Oklahoma Law stipulates that a birth certificate is to be filed within seven (7) days after the birth (63 OS 1-311(A)), The birth certificate provides medical and health information that is used extensively in research and in planning programs relating to maternal and child health.
This training is designed to provide physicians, hospital personnel, and others with instructions for completing and filing a paper copy of the Oklahoma Certificate of Live Birth. However, facilities using the Registering Oklahoma Vital Event Records (ROVER) website to file birth certificates electronically may still benefit from this material, particularly at times when their computer systems may be down.
Physicians who would like to sign up for ROVER should contact AskROVER@health.ok.gov or call (405) 426-8686.
