Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP)

Join the Elite in Workplace Safety with SHARP Certification

The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognizes employers that go above and beyond in maintaining exemplary safety and health management systems. When your business achieves SHARP certification, you are acknowledged as a model for worksite safety, gaining national recognition and an exemption from OSHA inspections for up to 1 or 2 years.

What is SHARP?

SHARP is an OSHA cooperative program designed to reward employers who have successfully implemented proven safety and health management practices and are committed to continuous improvement. By becoming SHARP certified, your business will:

  • Be exempt from scheduled OSHA inspections during the certification period.
  • Experience fewer injuries and illnesses, leading to reduced workers' compensation costs and lower insurance premiums.
  • Boost employee morale, knowing their safety is a top priority.

Benefits of SHARP Certification

The primary beneficiaries of SHARP are your employees, who, at the end of each workday, can return home safely to their families. In addition to employee well-being, SHARP certification can bring significant financial advantages to your business:

  • Fewer workplace injuries mean reduced costs for workers' compensation and insurance.
  • Your company will receive national recognition for excellence in safety and health management.
  • Community acknowledgment of your business as a leader in safety.
  • Exemption from scheduled OSHA inspections for 1-2 years.
