What will I see on my guided tour?
Guided tours last 45 minutes as participants are led through six floors of the historic Oklahoma State Capitol building, a neo-classical structure that completed a full restoration in 2022. Trained docents will guide participants on the tour, sharing stories and highlighting details about the Capitol artwork, the history of Oklahoma, the activities of state government, and more. Completed in 1917, the Oklahoma State Capitol is the only capitol in the nation to house all three branches of government. The historic building comprises over 11 acres of floor space and is home to hundreds of artworks from several state-owned collections managed by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
How much does a tour of the Oklahoma State Capitol cost?
All tours of the Oklahoma State Capitol are free.
How much notice do I give to receive a guided tour?
Requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of a guided tour.
Where should I park and enter?
Parking is available in the lot south of the Capitol. Visitors must enter the building using the south entrance. Download a map of the Capitol complex.
What amenities can I expect at the Oklahoma State Capitol?
In addition to the dynamic learning experience in art, history, and government, visitors can shop for gifts and souvenirs in the Oklahoma State Capitol Tourism and Information Center and Gift Shop on the ground floor. Visitors can also purchase food at the cafe on the ground floor.
May I take photos on my tour?
Yes, we encourage visitors to take photos during their tours. However, please do not use your flash.

What if bad weather is predicted?
Your safety is our priority. If inclement weather posing travel risks is predicted for the area near the Capitol, tours may be canceled. To find out if tours have been canceled, check our social media pages, email tours@arts.ok.gov, or call (405) 521-6813.
