Cotton Gin

To protect farmers from monopoly practices, the Corporation Commission regulates cotton gins, requiring gins to provide similar services to all cotton growers at approved prices. Commission rules also seek to protect farmers' production by requiring gins to carry sufficient insurance against fire and other losses that may destroy harvested cotton. In addition, gin operators are required to follow certain rules for properly cleaning and packaging cotton.
