The OSDH PHL provides a courier service for specimen transportation with 168 pickup locations throughout the State of Oklahoma including 54 hospitals and 114 County Health Departments. Using the courier service allows for the specimen to be delivered to the PHL the next day by 7:30 AM, allowing for expedited processing.

Specimens should be dropped off at any of the designated courier pickup locations sixty minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time. Hospitals have the right to refuse water or rabies specimens.

All specimens must be properly packaged in accordance with the Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations and must be addressed to the OSDH Public Health Laboratory, 4615 W. Lakeview Rd., Stillwater, Oklahoma 74075. Courier drivers will refuse improperly packaged specimens.

If you are a patient inquiring about lab results, please contact the submitting provider.

If you are a provider, please send a secure email to PublicHealthLab@health.ok.gov and include the patient's first and last name, date of birth, date of service, and test type. The email will be processed within 24-48 hours.

*In order to remain HIPAA compliant, the OSDH lab staff is only authorized to release confidential information, such as lab results, to the submitting provider. Patients requesting lab results should refer all questions to the submitting provider.*
