Office of the State Epidemiologist

Our mission

The Office of the State Epidemiologist under the Oklahoma State Department of Health advocates for the health and well-being of all Oklahomans. This division seeks to reduce health risks in our communities by monitoring, preventing, and controlling the spread of disease. The Office of the State Epidemiologist also identifies and responds to any emerging issues that may affect the public and environmental health of Oklahoma.

The Infectious Disease Prevention & Response Epidemiologist-on-call can be reached at (405) 426-8710. This is a 24 hours/7 days a week number where an epidemiologist is available for communicable disease consultations for healthcare providers and the general public.
