Medical Facilities

The Medical Facilities Division of the Oklahoma State Department of Health licenses and certifies health care facilities in accordance with State and Federal laws. This service has responsibility for inspection, licensure and Medicare re-certification of all non-long term care medical facilities in Oklahoma. COVID-19 Resources

Executive Order 2020-13 allows for the promulgation of emergency rules by State agencies to address the emergency. The new rules allow the Department to extend renewal deadlines for any occupational or professional license, certificate, permit, or registration issued by the Department. The Department may waive, defer or suspend inspection requirements. Fingerprinting requirements may be deferred. Conditional licenses may be granted to emergency medical personnel.

The Governor’s Amended Executive Memorandum 2020-02 allowed the resumption of Elective Surgical Procedures in Oklahoma, beginning April 24, 2020.  The Oklahoma State Department of Health has issued clarification of the Guidance for Resuming Elective Surgical Procedures release, dated April 22, 2020.

03/04/20 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a suspension of inspections for federal and state inspectors. This guidance addresses survey activities for all health care facilities, providers, and clinical laboratories in response to COVID-19.

The 1135 waiver allows the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to waive some requirements in Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP that give state Medicaid agencies flexibility and remove red tape that can hamper access to needed services.

This tool assists health care providers with the ability to calculate their average consumption rate of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (ie. gowns, gloves, surgical masks, respirators, and face shields) to determine an estimate of how long remaining supply will last.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have provided guidance on steps to safely return healthcare personnel with confirmed or suspected COVID-19.
