Health Facilities Plan Review

This program was created to ensure compliance with minimum construction standards and life safety standards. A plan review fee for hospitals was instituted on July 13, 2000, for long term care facilities on June 4, 2004, and for inpatient hospice facilities on May 27, 2004.  Health Facilities Plan Review staff perform onsite, phased construction inspections to assure compliance with minimum standards, and to monitor construction compliance.

Plan Review staff may provide consultation to providers, owners, architects, and others associated with medical related facilities and long term care facilities.  To request a consultation the Consultation Services Request form (Ambulatory Surgical Center / Long Term Care Facility) must be submitted to Medical Facilities.  The Department will evaluate the requests and make a determination of whether a consultation request will be granted, for more information regarding the requirements and fees for consultations contact Medical Facilities.
